Progress:

Hello!! Welcome back to my blog!!! today, i will be taking you on a little journey to a small taste of Blues. I made the decision of playing another guitar exercise called New Orleans Blues Riff to practice my application of the major scale. this song was played in the key of A major, but i learned that it can be played anywhere on the guitar as long as it starts on the low e string.

this song was composed of a repeated sequence including transitions between the fourth and seventh fret. overall, this exercise emphasized practicing muscle memory and transitions which is the perfect exorcise to improve my errors.

Reflection:

playing this song was enjoyable since the tune was super catchy. however, frustration outweighed my enjoyment during this exercise. going into this experience, i assumed that i would not have a hard time playing this song since i didn't struggle learning the song i played previously. however, While i was practicing this little song, i found it very difficult to transition between the fourth and seventh fret. i read the tab music easily, but since i was too focused on making the stretch to the next tab, i wasn't paying close attention to which strings my fingers landed on, which caused me play the wrong note. as i was playing, i realized that it was easier to transition if i played each note individually without keeping them placed on the strings. however, i don't think that's the proper way to play guitar so i prevented myself from using that method and put myself up to the challenge again to practice my flexibility between transitions.
